By Road

Bury St Edmunds is just off the A14. London is less than two hours away (using the M11 or A12) and the Midlands are within easy reach.

By Train

Bury St Edmunds station is on Station Hill, a 10 minute walk to the Angel Hill and town centre. Abellio Greater Anglia provide services from Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and parts of Hertfordshire. look out for offers including “Group Save” – two pay and four travel.

From the station proceed straight ahead onto Station Hill. Proceed up Station Hill towards the mini roundabout. Cross the roundabout into Ipswich Street and follow the road until it becomes St John’s Street.

St John’s Street is the start of the Christmas Fayre and Bury St Edmunds historic shopping areas. Here you will find a vast array of independent shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes. Toilets, a rest area and mother and baby room can be found in the Just Traid Café.

By Bus

Angel Hill is 10 minutes walk from the bus station. The Arc shopping centre is 2 minutes and the Independent shopping street – St John’s Street is across the road via Sergeants Walk. All parts of the town centre and the Christmas Fayre are easily accessible.

The main bus station is on St Andrews Street North and has toilets and a waiting area. Services from Cambridge, Thetford, Norwich and National Express coaches arrive here.

These sites are approximately a 20 minute walk from the town centre and Christmas Fayre.

Park and Ride  CASH ONLY 

The Christmas Fayre park and ride service runs from Saxham Business Park, just off the A14 (IP28 6RX). This site is well sign posted from all major routes and the A14.

Park and Ride is available on Thursday from 11am until 8.30pm, Friday and Saturday from 8.30am to 8:30pm and Sunday from 9am to 5:30pm.

Please note coaches do not accept dogs, except for assistance dogs.

Car Parks

Bury St Edmunds has several reasonably priced long and short stay car parks. Prices and location details can be viewed on the West Suffolk Councils website.
