Cathedral Gift Fair & Events
St Edmundsbury Cathedral’s annual Christmas Fair is on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 November from 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.. Stalls will include Christmas treats, gifts, cakes, jigsaws, books, plants and paintings. There will also be the chance to buy tickets for the Grand Draw and win a range of prizes.
The ever popular Shoppers’ Carols will take place in the Cathedral at 2.00 p.m. and 3.00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. This brief carol service, lasting just 25 minutes, is a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of the Fair and serves as a reminder of what Christmas is all about..
Outside the Cathedral visitors can meet sheep, donkeys and alpacas (pretending to be camels!) in the stable at the Living Nativity. Children can dress up as the traditional characters of the Christmas story, such as angels and shepherds.
Refreshments will be available from the Refectory (from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Friday and Saturday) and the Cathedral Shop will be open throughout the Fair.
